Are you passionate about environmental issues?
The environmental film festival is proving to be a creative way to engage both students and the community in sustaining environmental awareness. Last year, the Ontario Teachers’ federation, in partnership with Planet in Focus (PIF), assisted four schools in hosting four very successful environmental film festivals in their communities. Based on the success of these festivals, this year, OTF is expanding the project to nine film festivals in different communities across the province.
OTF, in partnership with Planet in Focus, will assist teachers in their efforts to raise environmental awareness in their school communities through hosting local environmental film festivals. This project offers teachers a practical professional learning experience that will assist in developing and improving leadership skills along with collaborative team work.
Planet in Focus hosts Canada’s largest environmental film and video festival annually in Toronto to increase public awareness, discussion, and appropriate action toward the environmental and social health of the planet.
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all teams who submitted a proposal application for the OTF/PIF Environmental Film Festival. We received many very worthy applications; unfortunately we were only able to choose nine.
