TORONTO, September 1, 2026—On behalf of the Executive and Board of Governors of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF), President Nathan Core is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Martine Irman to the Board of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension
Plan (Ontario Teachers’) for a second three-year term commencing January 1, 2027.
Martine Irman is a seasoned financial executive with over 30 years of experience in International Banking, Treasury, Securities, and Trade. Irman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Financial Studies from Western University, received her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
“Martine’s financial expertise, sound judgment and commitment to strong governance have made her a valued member of the Ontario Teachers’ Board,” stated Core. “A strong, sustainable pension plan provides retirement security for Ontario teachers and supports a strong publicly funded education system that benefits all Ontarians.”
The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is jointly sponsored by the Ontario Teachers’ Federation and the Government of Ontario. Director and Chair appointments are for three-year terms, renewable for a maximum of three terms. Each sponsor appoints five directors and jointly appoint an eleventh person to serve as Chair.
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation is the advocate for the teaching profession in Ontario and for its 160,000+ teachers. OTF members are full-time, part-time and occasional teachers in all publicly funded schools in the province—elementary, secondary, public, Catholic and the French-language system.
