The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) stands in solidarity with its four affiliates (AEFO, ETFO, OECTA, and OSSTF) as well as with many other organizations and groups which are expressing serious concerns with Ontario’s back to school plan.
OTF shares the frustrations of our members across the province who are struggling to cope with a plan which has largely ignored the voices of teachers and educational workers – a plan which is short-sighted and constantly changing and reflects this government’s inflexibility in allowing Boards to implement creative solutions that would improve the health and safety of staff and students.
Bottom line: students, teachers and educational workers in Ontario’s publicly funded school system deserve a plan that clearly makes their health and safety the top priority during this ongoing pandemic.
