Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence

The Ontario Teachers’ Federation congratulates the nine teachers in publicly funded education in Ontario who received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. They are as follows:

Certificate of Excellence

  • Viviane Gaudreault, First Avenue Public School, Ottawa
  • Vernon Kee, Danforth Collegiate Technical Institute, Toronto

Certificate of Achievment

  • Sukdeep Kaur Chohan Hickory Wood Public School, Brampton
  • Robert Albert Filion, Ecole secondaire publique De La Salle, Ottawa
  • Samantha Leonard Anishnaabe Skiiniw Alternative School, Southwold
  • Shauna Pollock, Churchill Alternative Public School, Ottawa
  • Heather Walker, Rickson Ridge Public School, Guelph

The Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize outstanding elementary and secondary school teachers who, through the innovative use of information and communications technologies, help Canadian students meet the challenges of a 21st century society and digital economy.

Forty-two educators from across Canada received the Prime Minister’s award. Those who receive Certificates of Excellence will receive their awards from the Prime Minister at an event in Ottawa. Those who receive Certificates of Achievement are honoured locally.
