OPC offers the Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP) designed to proactively explore effective leadership dimensions through a lens of human rights, equity and anti-oppression.

Candidates will increase their capacity to authentically:
– lead school improvement processes to enhance the experiences for learners and effectively manage all areas of school operations.
– engage in self-reflection and ethical decision-making through critical analysis of issues and development of strategies for identifying and removing barriers at school and system levels.

– nurture a culture of learning to support critical and creative thinking and the continual improvement of professional practice.
Part 1 and Part 2 of the program is made up of six modules each. The breakdown of asynchronous and synchronous hours that total the required 125 hours for each part.

Candidates that take the course with OPC have 3-years after the date of completion of the Part 1 course to complete the Part 2 course and all components of the Leadership Inquiry Practicum.

The MASTER’S DIMENSION is an optional add-on, available at the beginning of the program if you plan on completing PQP Part 1 and Part 2 through the OPC and would like advance standing credits towards a Master of Education degree with post-secondary partner institutions. Appropriate academic standards apply to the Leadership Inquiry Practicum component.
