This course is designed to assist teachers in identifying the relevant content and strategies for teaching Roman Catholic Religious Education from JK to the Senior Division. The students will be introduced to the major philosophical issues, teaching models and assessment strategies.
This course will focus on an advanced study of teaching, approaching, and unit design for Roman Catholic religious studies. It will also examine the relationship between religion and values and the implications for curriculum.
This course will include a specialist level of study of practical strategies for the teaching of Roman Catholic Religious Education including course design and evaluation at both the school and system-wide level. An educational perspective of the various exceptionalities which have a direct effect upon the learning process of students. Identification, description, evaluation and reporting techniques as well as teaching strategies for the various exceptionalities will be stressed in this course.
This course requires qualified teachers to study, in depth, the education of pupils with physical, intellectual, communications and behavioural abnormalities.
