Course Description

Using an integrated approach to curriculum, this course will enable teachers to receive additional qualifications for the intermediate division in geography. Topics such as curriculum planning, teaching strategies and assessment of learning experiences for the intermediate division will be included in this course.

Learner Outcomes

Incorporate professional knowledge to create engaging programs.* Explore pedagogical processes, assessments, and evaluation practices that connect curriculum to learner interests, strengths, inquiries, needs, and well-being.* Apply Ontario curriculum, resources, and government policies, frameworks, and strategies to design Intermediate Geography courses.* Explore the integration of culturally inclusive pedagogies in program design, planning, and development.

Prerequisites

1. OCT MEMBERSHIP confirming you are an OCT member with an undergraduate degree./ 2. UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPT(S) / Your transcript(s) must show: The equivalent of 2.0 full undergraduate/graduate credits in geography and of those, at least a half credit must be a Canadian Geography credit
