Strengthen your French language proficiency, explore new teaching approaches, and deepen your French as a Second Language (FSL) practice through an Ici on parle français professional learning grant. Ici on parle français was launched in 2020 and is funded through the French as a Second Language Labour Market Partnership (FSL-LMP), led by the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA). The program supports both individual educators and collaborative learning teams.

Who can apply?
You are eligible if you:
- Are a member of OTF or one of its Affiliates
- Work for an Ontario publicly funded school board
- Are a teacher (full-time, part-time, or occasional) or education support worker
- Do not need to be currently teaching FSL
What can funding be used for?
Funding may be used for:
- Professional learning programs and workshops
- AQ courses and other learning opportunities
- Collaborative inquiry projects
- Resources that support French language proficiency and FSL teaching practice
- Professional learning activities that strengthen confidence and effectiveness as an FSL educator
Funding restrictions
Funding cannot be used for:
- Food
- Travel
- Accommodation
- Capital purchases
- Student resources (except in specified project circumstances that are investigating the impact on FSL teaching practice of using student resources and/or the FSL Experiential Learning Resources for Educators and Students provincial program)
Original receipts are required for all expenditures.
For FSL courses, funds will be paid upon proof of successful completion of the course.
Recipient responsibilities
Successful applicants agree to:
- Fully spending the funds awarded to you.
- Complete the proposed professional learning activity or project
- Submit a progress update during the school year
- Report on how grant funds were used
- Complete a final report and survey describing the impact on professional learning and/or French proficiency

Notification of successful applicants.
December 14, 2026–January 8, 2027
Interim report to share progress to date.
Week of March 22, 2027
Interim report with a funding update.
May 21, 2027
Activities must be completed by this date along with a survey and final report.
