This introductory course explores theoretical foundations and practical applications of mentoring through the development of mentoring relationships, implementation of mentoring models, and understanding of ethical practices in the industry.

Candidates will holistically explore how the mentoring relationship supports effective teaching and leadership practices by understanding the role of the mentor in varying contexts.

This course is aligned with current Ontario curriculum, relevant legislation, government policies, frameworks, and strategies. Candidates will holistically explore how the mentoring relationship supports effective teaching and leadership practices by understanding the role of the mentor in varying contexts. Candidates will be encouraged to critically explore policies, practices, and resources available at provincial, school and board levels that inform teaching and learning related to Mentoring.

  • OCT member in good standing
  • Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
  • Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:

    • Senior
