Reading Part 2 expands the knowledge and skills acquired in Part 2 and integrate them in their practice. Reading Part 2 supports the expectations outlined in the Ministry of Education curriculum policy documents and other Ministry of Education policies. Candidates will be involved in in-depth discussions and presentations on reading instruction and will participate in seminars and group work relating to current practices and issues. Reading Part 2 provides candidates with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the foundations underlying vision and philosophy of reading instruction. Candidates will explore in an integrated delivery model, topics and issues of particular relevance to the educational context in which they work or may work. This course is open to all elementary and secondary teachers who have a basic qualification in general studies and who have completed Reading Part 2 and one year of successful teaching experience.
