Our goal is to create a PLC to research/implement STEM activities and makerspaces into project-based learning in FDK to make learning more engaging, authentic and self-motivating for students and educators, and to share this learning with others.
Explore the impact of 5 domains that affect children’s social, emotional and academic functioning in the classroom:
1) Use of technology
2) Nutrient-rich foods
3) Physical activity
Starting from where each learner is at and moving forward: It’s what we practise when working with children, and it is what we practised as educators working together to help each other grow in regards to using technology to document student learning
Identifying various open-ended/content-creation iPad apps that enhance and develop students’ oral communication and critical-thinking skills at the kindergarten level. Students use these apps to document their learning and show their thinking.
The Exploring Early Numeracy Through Inquiry project examined the development of early number concepts in K-2. We deepened our understanding of designing a mathematically rich environment to support exploration of number concepts at school and home.
