York University’s Principal’s Qualification Program, Part 2 is a leadership experience designed for educators ready to deepen their impact as school leaders. This course builds on foundational leadership knowledge and focuses on the real-world complexities of leading in today’s diverse educational landscape. Grounded in the Ontario College of Teachers’ Standards of Practice, The Ontario College of Teachers’ Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, the Ontario Leadership Framework, Board- level Equity Leadership Competencies and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, this course empowers candidates to reflect, advocate, and lead with purpose.

Practicum Information

Although not a prerequisite for the Part 2 course, successful completion of the PQP Practicum Project is required before being recommended for Part 2. York’s Part 2 course does not incorporate the completion of the Practicum Project as part of the course content. Proof of successful completion of a Practicum Project can be submitted anytime during or following the end of the course. Part 2 Instructional Leaders do not assess any completed practicum projects.
