Creating a Thinking Classroom for Primary Mathematics Part 2

Once we have explored the principles of a primary thinking classroom, we need to consider how to create it? In this session, practical tools will be introduced to help you design the thinking classroom for your students. These tools will help to develop assessment rich classrooms that sustain inquiry, engage your students, and nurture self-regulation. Children will learn to think about mathematics is a quality way.  By the end of the session, we will have answered the following questions:

  1. What tools are necessary to create a thinking classroom for primary math?
  2. How does a teacher teach and assess these tools?
  3. How do we ensure children develop the confidence and competencies to succeed and continue to succeed in mathematics?
