Making Curriculum Connections with Minecraft

Minecraft isn’t just cubes and Zombies, it is a digital tool that can be used to enhance student engagement with meaningful connections to the curriculum. This webinar will explain how the idea of Game Based Learning, specifically in the virtual sandbox known as Minecraft, can help build critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students from Grades 3 and up.  The world of Minecraft provides a rich environment for problem and project based learning in all areas of the Ontario curriculum and multi-player options open up additional opportunities to communicate and collaborate with peers.

NOTE: GamingEdus was founded with the goal of introducing educators to the learning potential of video games with a focus on equity, diversity, inclusion and student-led, inquiry-based learning.  MinecraftEdu is a school-ready remix of the original smash hit game Minecraft, played by over 30 million people worldwide.
