Plotting an Engaging Lesson in Math Through Coding-Coordinate Systems

Plotting in math can be as engaging as it is when storytelling. Working with coordinate systems can be more interactive and purposeful when students are coding. Participants in this session will be introduced to coding challenges in Scratch (a free web-based application) that help to enhance student understanding of the coordinate grid in math class. Coding offers many affordances to students’ learning of math ideas.
