This course will consider perceptual, conceptual, cognitive and affective factors as they relate to the learning of mathematics, knowledge of the language of mathematics, assessment and appropriate remedial strategies.
Specialist level study of practical strategies for the teaching of mathematics in the Primary and Junior grades. This course will include assessment and implementation of change in elementary mathematics programs; program planning for children with special needs; gender, cultural and racial issues in the learning of mathematics and leadership skills.
