Are you ready to help your students move beyond the standard classroom thinking routines toward a culture of thinking? This workshop is designed to help educators foster new thinking routines in their classrooms that will enhance learning at all levels.

Schools are busy places. If you were to walk into a classroom, at any grade level, on any given day, you would likely see an abundance of activity. One might wonder: just how much of all that is being done daily in our classrooms is simply a matter of work for work’s sake rather than for meaningful engagement that leads to deep understanding?

In this one-day workshop, Harvard University Project Zero Cultures of Thinking and Teaching for Understanding consultant Mark Church will lead participants through the exploration and implementation of using thinking routines to take more notice of students’ thinking. Participants will have a chance to reflect upon different classroom efforts to shift beyond simply carrying out good classroom activities toward implementing thinking opportunities and promoting richer language and discourse in thought-full classrooms.
