Exploring Patterning and Movement on a Grid Through Coding

March 28, 2017 to December 7, 2022

  • Category: Online, Workshop
  • Region: Central Ontario, Eastern Ontario, GTA, Northern Ontario, Southern Ontario
  • Topic: Technological Education
  • Grades: Primary (grades 1-3)

Find out how you can help primary students to learn about patterning and positional language by moving through a grid in a beginners’ coding app geared towards our youngest learners, ScratchJr.  Coding can help support development of spatial reasoning skills, which is important for children’s future success in school. ScratchJr is a sandbox-style (an exploration-based environment) coding app for iPads, android tablets and chromebooks and is perfect for young children. Unplugged (without computer) coding ideas will also be presented. Please visit OTF Connects for additional information and registration.
