This course provides candidates with a strong foundation and understanding of the vision and underlying philosophy related to Primary Education. The focus will be on the development of an engaging learning environment for primary aged learners. Candidates will have the opportunity to communicate and apply learning through practical experiences, discussions, networking, and the sharing of products of their learning.
Please note – if you are not qualified to teach in the primary division (grades JK – 3) taking this course will NOT provide you with primary qualifications. This course is designed to assist those teachers already qualified to teach in the primary division to teach more effectively.
Prerequisites:
- Certificate of Qualification and Registration or Interim Certificate of Qualification and Registration (ICQR) or ICQR (Limited) with the Ontario College of Teachers; and
- Basic Qualifications in Primary Division.
