STAO2016, hosted annually by the Science Teachers’ Association of Ontario, is the premier conference for science educators in Ontario. The conference is open to all K-12 educators. There are various types of sessions for all conference participants to attend, from lectures to hands-on workshops.

New to STAO2016 are the STAOPlayground and the Saturday Certificate Workshop Program. The STAOPlayground is an interactive space designed to allow participants to explore and experience science as their students do in the classroom.

The Saturday Certificate Workshop Program allows participants to earn certificates for: Indigenous Education, Beginning the Journey as a Science Educator, STEM/ STEAM Education, and Science in Early Years Education.
