This course provides an introduction and overview of the characteristics of students identified with a learning disability. This schedule C course focusses on practical ideas as well as key theory to meet the varied needs of students with learning disabilities. Participants will extend and apply their skills and knowledge in Special Education programs and services for their work with students with a LD. A deepening of your understanding of program design, planning, development and implementation strategies is an anchor in the course.

Teaching Students with Communications Needs (Learning Disabilities) lays the foundation for understanding what Learning Disabilities are, how students with these disabilities learn, how they communicate, how they develop socially, as well as how to recognize and use their skills, strengths, and needs for inclusion in the regular classroom
