This project investigated how teaching practices can be enhanced through focusing on eliciting and building upon students’ mathematical thinking. The inquiry took place in three junior classes on probability, geometry and measurement.

Exploring Gap-Closing Strategies
How to use a variety of tools to accurately identify gaps in student knowledge/ability level within each math strand. We then used this understanding to plan for differentiated math groupings and to help us address the identified gaps.
Exploring the Use of Technology in Mathematics (in French Immersion Classroom)
Our Grade 6 team of French Immersion teachers would like to explore the use of technology in a mathematics classroom and how to create common assessment tasks to build greater consistency.
